The company has it's roots in academia as it was created as a spin off for commercialising the results and knowledge of a series of research projects in the area of Gear Manufacturing. As a result the AGS team has a strong academic background and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. Dr Nikolaos Tapoglou is the Managing Director of AGS Gears. Nikolaos has been working in academia for over 15 years and has vast experience in driving improvement in manufacturing processes. Throughout his career he has collaborated with a academic and industrial sector in a range of projects. He has worked in a range of research projects in the area of gear manufacturing, simulation of manufacturing processes, digital manufacturing, novel machining methods and machining of aerospace alloys. Nikolaos has a great understanding of the latest manufacturing strategies into machining
